Poetry Expansion

So, the last couple posts have been pretty irreverent, and downright playful at times. But this 1 is a more serious matter. I'm strongly considering turning my poetry, at least the 1 about the Man and the Harbor into a long drawn out piece. Now, like my irreverent posts, I'm not 1 for expressing things through poetry, so this seems to be quite the challenge.

Where should I even begin with writing poetry? It sort of just came to me, will the rest?! Well, I've got fairly good syntax, semantics, and grammar. So, that's where I'll start. I will use my post from a month ago about the Man and the Harbor as a jumping off point for the rest of the poem, and shoot for an arbitrary 100 words. I'll write in 2 line phrases, with consistent syllables and alliteration.

Maybe the piece will be a narrative about the man during a typical day by the harbor. It will express his view, meals, walks, pets(?), fishing(?), cleaning, and interests. While not all poetry is a minimalisation of English prose, a large volume of it is. This piece will strive to be both delicate and sparse in the use of words.

I'm not sure if this Man's harbor is my harbor. Or another harbor in Minnesota. Or another harbor on the Atlantic or Pacific Coast. Or another harbor in a distant time and place.

While I'm not entirely inspired. I'll begin by learning much about maritime jargon. Knots, fish, whaling, tankers, monocular, boats, engines, waves, storms, phrases, speech, fishing gear, diving, port culture, and more...

At this time, I want 100 words and a hand drawn painting.
