When Science Catches Up with Technology...

By improving the tech we have it would have a 2-fold improvement on production...Let me explain, the tech has been taking a serious nose-dive in the last 10 years, where agendas have bigger and bigger footings and the technology has been losing functionality...I saw this begin while I was studying Computer Science in college, that there were too many loose ends to be viable, the camps of dispersed individuals that were trying to keep the technology running were losing traction to the executives and consumers that were demanding features...I'm sure this conundrum is well understood to the point of tech's exemption, yet we still use tech in so many ways...Historically, the base technology just lingers around because of it's underwhelming popularity...and the tech rights itself, but what if it's breaking down???  Does it get to the point where better technology (read old school reason) is so important that you must use better technology or have problems??? For example, Voice Over IP is giving me spotty coverage, most likely because the internet is basically intermittent, but if I could upgrade to a land line would it help me at all? I'm sure I'll be paying more for a land line, but would the upgrade be worth the investment? I'm sure I don't want to go to cell technology, as that just lands people in hot water...but a base technology move like a land line; subscribing at home, and getting another line at work may just be the ticket...
