It's Christmas time and everyone is jolly and happy. The Whos' are out shopping and gathering the makings of holiday toasts. I'm listening to 'N Synch holiday album, and waiting for the next party. Although, I think we, Gramps, Grams, and I, only have 1 more party. It's a pot-luck dinner at the clubhouse. Then we're home free for Christmas. It'll be quiet and pleasant around the house with the coffee flowing.
I just announced that there will be no Grinch around our house this Christmas. Only Whos' and Anti-Grinches. We'll have time to put whatever's on our minds on the back burner and concentrate on the Christmas tree, ornaments, foods, cards, and in our case sunshine. I think we get a little more sunshine because we're closer to the equator.
A big warm Christmas wish out to family and friends near and far. I think about you during Christmas and hope you stay warm and happy.

The Reason I Like Vegetarianism and the unrelated Evergreen Articles
I like the vegetarian diet. While I'm not a vegetarian (or Vegan as they call it now) strictly speaking I'll go into some of the benefits of vegetarian diets. The biggest help is when I don't have to carry as much meat in my stomach. Just eating a lighter diet can improve your energy level. Said another way when you eat meat it's very easy to overeat. Having a vegetarian diet can actually improve your nutrient intake as your eating colorful fruits and vegetables instead of sometimes bland meat. While I love a juicy steak when it's appropriate, there are many occasions where there are meat alternatives that are simply lower in calories. Boca, Morningstar Burgers, Eggs, and Cheeses are all great alternatives to a dense meat based diet.
I don't know why they call it Vegan when someone goes vegetarian. In my day vegan meant you were a super strict, nearly sickly, vegetarian. That you had some radical beliefs and usually emotional baggage. There's really, next to NO ethical considerations when it comes to vegetarianism. I'm willing to bet that any vegetarian that grew up on my block that tells you they are a vegetarian due to ethical considerations is giving you the equivalent of low-cal bullshit. And by the way I eat a very high calorie diet, vegetarian or not.
Now, as far as evergreen articles go, I intend, as I've wrote before, to go back and turn my blog entries into constructive, ongoing resources for web visitors. Each blog entry will be a 1-page self-contained reference for web surfers with tons of facts and figures. Some examples of reference pages I'd like to have evergreen articles on are House Rules for Board Games. I'd like to update my recipes as needed. Also, much of my freeform ranting and raving need clarification and expanded references. For example, each board game will have 1 blog entry dedicated to it with multiple topics for popular games such as Magic the Gathering. Each cooking recipe will have 1 entry dedicated to it. Single topics like Vegetarianism, Politics, Mental Health, Small Business, will each have dedicated pages. In fact now that I think about it, I might start a whole new Evergreen Blog with a much greater organization, consistency, and regularity.
