Bulllllllll Shit

Now the interweb is fritzing cause some jerk want me to be more active. I'm pissed cause I've worked hard to establish myself on the net, and now the web is having its own way?!! If I'm not mistaken it's costing ME; Time and Money; to do this; and I enjoy it; and some self-righteous, bolts for brains, person, is messing with Al Gore's interweb. I'm pissed. I've just started learning this tool and now bolts for brains wants to hack MY experience. Forget it, I'm downloading the internet to my floppy drive, and I'll build it my own way.

Photograph or High Quality Painting of the Same Subject?

There are pros and cons to each the photograph, and the painting. I'll outline the most obvious pros and cons of each and let you decide. Both can be grand or lame. Both can be slaved over, reproduced, setup, framed, etc. Here's goes, the pros and cons of photograph and painting.

The photograph is much more common in modern civilization to recount travels, parties, and otherwise novel things. This is because we move fast and want a fast way to preserve our memories. The photograph gives us a frame when life is too much, and for when life wants to be framed. The negatives of a photograph are meant to be preserved for a very long time, due to their great durability. Photographs can and are developed in different sizes and aspect ratios. Now, down to the artistic interpretation of a photograph...Photographs provide real life colors that are difficult to reproduce on canvas. The contrast, lighting, and definition with photographs can be made excellent through different means. Lastly, because of the ease and portability of cameras, photographs capture all sorts of bizarre and wonderful things.

Paintings on the other hand are usually much longer works done by those skilled in the craft of painting. A painting may be added to or subtracted from at the whim of the painter. The tools of painting are somewhat limited by traditional tools and means. The painter's experience, education, and history all play into a personal style of painting, often to the point where paintings can be identified without looking at the signature. And the qualities that appeal to painting. Paintings leave the observer imagining the painter's world immediately. A crafty painter may allow the observer to linger in their own imagination or let them judge the painting critically. Beyond the imagination of the painter and observer, there are often elements of paintings that are fantastical by societal standards. Lastly, because of the always changing availability of materials, crafting paintings is always subject to the supply and demand of materials.
