196 Bad Luck Post

Didn't want to leave my post count, so consider this a dummy post. just getting away from 196 posts.

Crappy, Broke, and Still Smiling

Hello World...I'm searching for forever...Things are going well, but I didn't get the loan from Wells Fargo to pay off my credit card. Maybe I'm overreacting but it seems really usury the way they will charge 21% but won't give me a loan. Don't mind being in debt, don't mind paying it off, it just seems unfair to charge that much interest...That said, my numbers are looking pretty good with a high for July 2013 in number of visitors. I'm feeling really good, which will never be bought. All I want to do is cuddle with my family...but, I'm stinky and my family doesn't want to cuddle. I'm getting by with less which is a real accomplishment for me, when everything looks so purchaseable...It's nice getting rid of some of my obsessive behaviors and extra things that I never look at. I don't want to go completely minimalist, but a bit of focus on the basics seems like a good idea. I really hope Grandma and Grandpa aren't serious super serious about their ultra-health kick, cause that doesn't sound very filling. Maybe I'll bring a suitcase of junk food. Nah, but when I'm done writing this I'm going hunting for some grub. Won a game of solitaire, Scorpion FreeCell style. I'm really healthy all things considered, and I've got a penchant for vacation coming up, but I would like to have a little more tidy belongings...so, I'm dedicating from now until the 4th to tidying up and making sure everything is in its place.

Tom Cruise is an Awesome Actor

Besides all the strange things he does offstage, he's really a dramatic actor, that has some really great hits. He has so many hits I can't list them all, cocktail, days of thunder, MI 12&3, Top Gun, Minority Report, and so on... He's getting older though, maybe he will take Shawn Connery's place as an older badass. I'm really jone'sing for a TC flick.

So the Russians are Reading my Blog, Here's American Business Russians :)

I was looking through my stats for my blog and I've made 4 cents this month in advertising revenue. I think I'll put it in a Certificate of Deposit j/k. It is interesting that the Russians are reading though, I would have thought they had communist propaganda to pour over, not little old mine blog. That said I'm happy to be blogging my life, it's a peaceful outlet for some random ideas. I recently bought the Encore Hoyle 2013 line of card, board, and gambling games...and I'm happy with them. They are interesting and fun if not as cut throat as I might like. I enjoy playing the "no limit" forms of popular board games just to increase the complexity and length of games. This may seem a bit immature, but I really like the unexpected results that come from complex gaming. I can't wait for the PS4 to come out. I'm going to dig out the old PS1 games and buy (or ask Santa) for a bunch more. Plus it has a built in Blue Ray for those future movies TBA that may only be released on the new technology. I'm not really afraid of Dvds going out of style completely because stores like Wal-Mart need some actual thing to stock their shelves with. Well, I'm finally boiling down my sales ideas into a marketable product for my website. I'll begin by having 5 or 10 products at a competitive margin, considering I intend to have global shipping. This way everyone on Earth pays the same price for the same product. And I don't have the headache of a million shipping options. Here's my top 10 ideas for product... 1) Micro-SD cards--They are easy to ship and an incredible value for storing information. 2) Bicycle Playing Cards--Sold by the case of 12, these are the standard for card clubs. 3) Disposable Cameras--A great way to take pics when you don't want sand in your Nikon F6. 4) Candy--Again sold by the case, a way of sugaring up when you've got a project to do with the other products. 5) Watches--I'm thinking Timex for the wary businessman that wants something reliable, but inexpensive. 6) Coffee Pots--These things are always breaking. 7) Harmonicas--Likely the expensive Hohner Special 20s in the key of C. 8) Cell Phone Cases--I would like to sell those special "Otter Cases" that make cell phones tough. 9) Dvds--Something to watch. 10) Haven't decided on the 10th maybe a sports ball, maybe another food item, maybe cigarettes...We'll have to see here. Plus, anything that has a high chance of resale that I can get on liquidation at the right price.

Money, Money, Money...

Now that I'm not working at ValleyFair I've got to find something else to do. Sitting behind a cash register would seem pretty slow compared to that, but it may be just what I have to do. Maybe slinging coffee at Caribou again. Maybe selling online. My skills are a bit scattered, so I will have to do a myriad of things to make my money, but that's not inherently bad. It just requires better scheduling. Between the Internet, advertising, odd jobs, retail, and crafts I should be able to make a decent living. Putting it all together is something of a logistics nightmare. But here goes...

I will will attempt to net $20 per month from crafting. I will attempt to net $15 per month through passive advertising. I will attempt to net $100 per month through odd jobs.  I will attempt to net $50 per month through sales.

This would total $185 per month and would make a large contribution towards my financial and emotional health.

Is Professional Sports Hurting Pickup Games at the Park

I've got to believe that when our athletes make millions of dollars it is somehow decreasing the number and quality of pickup games at local parks. This flux in professionalism is making our athletes sterile to real world concerns. For every A-rod making many millions to compete at the highest level there is a kid at the park that wants to go pro and doesn't think he can scale as high as A-rod. Gone are the days where young people actually wanted to become athletes. Now they are farmed as one might farm a garden or a trade.

When was the last time the TV said college attended, streetball??? When was the last time an MJ or Bird or Magic came up through the ranks? Sure our players look like those of yesterday, but do they have the same heart? I doubt it.

Sport Races

Soccer 3
Hockey 3
Basketball 100
Baseball 5
Football 50

Would these sports be better if they raced to these point totals???

Quick Cribbage Wins

The plan was to play to 100 but I lost count when QC got to 50 and I was still at 7. Chalk 1 up for the computer. I may have to get a book on How to Play Cribbage. I'll try again soon, but not today...I'm desperately wanting to get some cash flow now that I've lost my job at Valley Fair. Putting some things up for sale is a good start, but I just don't have anything where the margin will cover the shipping cost. It sucks being in a financial hole!!!
